Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct patient care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, vitals, specimen collection, EKGs, and ensuring comfort and safety for a diverse patient population.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or equivalent, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; completion of one of the following: PCT/CNA/MA program or nursing assistant program or equivalent medical background experience.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and strong teamwork and patient-focused care.
• Licenses: AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-specific criteria and patient needs.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient status and care plans.
• Assist with assessment, vital signs, procedures, and documentation as directed.
• Support safety, comfort, and patient satisfaction throughout the shift.
