Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population under RN supervision. You will provide direct and indirect care, assist with assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and patient transport, while promoting safety and comfort at all times.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship with preferred phlebotomy/EKG experience. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification programs: CNA, Medical Assistant, or PCT; or Fundamentals of Nursing; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.
• Experience or willingness to learn phlebotomy and EKG is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age and safety criteria as part of the care team.
• Maintain accurate patient records, monitor vital signs, and notify RN of abnormal results.
• Assist with patient transport, hygiene, and daily living activities as directed.
• Support unit safety and participate in performance improvement activities.
