Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a patient population under RN supervision. This role emphasizes safe, compassionate care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and collaboration with the health care team to improve patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent medical background, willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs within a hospital environment. AHA BLS is required within 60 days of starting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent medical background required or eligible for apprentice program.
• AHA BLS required within 60 days of start; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care appropriate to age and medical needs as part of interdisciplinary team.
• Take vitals, document findings in patient records, and notify RN of abnormal results.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as directed.
• Conduct EKGs and ensure equipment is functional and ready.
• Assist with patient transport, feeding, hygiene, and daily activities.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standard care practices.
