Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting a variety of tasks across units. You will welcome patients, collect specimens, perform basic nursing duties such as vitals, phlebotomy, EKG, and help with meals, personal care, and safety.

Candidates should have a CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent, be able to learn quickly, work in a team, and may enter the HMH PCT

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent training.
• Eligible for HMH PCT Apprenticeship program; may be hired as PCT Apprentice.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with admission, assessment and procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; report changes.
• Collect specimens and perform glucose testing as directed.
• Prepare patient for assessments and ensure environment is ready.
