Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team in New Jersey. The role focuses on direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, with duties ranging from personal care to data collection, specimen handling, and basic monitoring.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma and have completed or are in a CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship. BLS certification within 60 days is required, with emphasis on teamwork and compassionate patient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; required or equivalent.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT or Fundamentals of Nursing program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) for HCP within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and safety per age-specific criteria.
• Document vitals and patient data; notify RN of abnormalities.
• Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture as directed.
• Conduct EKGs and support lab specimen handling.
• Maintain equipment and prepare patient rooms for admission and procedures.
• Support interdisciplinary team and participate in PI activities.
