Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our care team in New Jersey. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care, ensure comfort and safety, and support the interdisciplinary team across the patient care continuum.

The role requires completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship, AHA BLS HCP certification within 60 days, and a strong focus on teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program or equivalent medical background.
• AHA BLS HCP certification required within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care based on age, safety, and education needs.
• Communicate patient status with RN and care team.
• Perform venipuncture, collect specimens, and document findings.
• Assist with assessments, admissions, procedures, and emergency responses.
• Ensure equipment readiness and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Participate in PI activities and contribute to care planning.
