Kroger is hiring a Patient Care Technician to maximize patient flow and deliver a stellar patient experience. Under the on-duty clinician direction, you will handle front-desk tasks, EHR documentation, and daily clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet patients, assist with registrations, collect payments and insurance details, and ensure a clean, safe clinic space. HIPAA-compliant communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based, survey-ready healthcare environment as required to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
• Greet customers or potential patients in the front area or near the clinic.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily and handle supplies and rooms after visits.
• Answer questions with HIPAA guidelines; consult with the provider on scope of services.
• Use queue, appointment, and kiosk systems to manage waiting room flow.
• Complete registration and place the patient under the scheduler book for the provider on duty.
• Verify patient identity using government-issued ID.
• Determine payment method and collect payments, logging into the EHR.
• Collect insurance information and process payments in the EHR.
• Scan documents or alert the provider to complete scanning.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and note chief complaints.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history, entering data in the EHR as trained.
• Guide waiting patients on registration, wait time, services, and payment options.
• Answer phones, respond to questions, and complete daily patient callbacks.
• Participate in off-site events and prepare for them as needed.
• Assemble weekly orders for provider approval; prepare packages and specimens for shipping.
• If float, travel to designated clinics within the area.
