Kroger is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support daily clinic operations under supervision of the nurse practitioner/physician assistant. You will greet patients, register them, collect payments, obtain vital signs, and enter data into the EHR while maintaining a clean, safe clinical space.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, survey-ready healthcare environment as required to maintain Joint Commission Accreditation.
• Greet customers or potential patients in the front area or near the clinic.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily, including trash, supply orders, and examination rooms.
• Answer questions, adhering to HIPAA guidelines while in the front area.
• Utilize the front-office tools to manage waiting room flow and registration.
• Complete patient registration and place the patient in the scheduler book.
• Verify identity using government-issued ID.
• Determine payment method and log payments in the EHR.
• Collect insurance information and log in the EHR; follow up as needed.
• Scan documents or alert the provider when scanning is needed.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document chief complaint and vitals.
• Record vitals and patient history in the EHR; maintain data accuracy.
• Provide guidance to waiting patients regarding registration, wait times, services, and payment methods.
• Answer phones, return calls, and perform daily patient callbacks per policy.
• Participate in off-site events as needed.
• Prepare weekly supply orders for provider approval; package and mail specimens as required.
• Travel to designated clinics if a float is needed.
• Support advanced staff with specimen collection per protocol when required.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
