Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a patient care technician to assist with direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role includes clinical and clerical duties, specimen collection, vital signs, and preparation for procedures.

Requires CNA/EMT/CMA certifications, plus BLS. Expect a 3:00p-11:30p evening shift with potential signing bonus; non-exempt status and a 24-hour weekly schedule may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA/EMT/CMA certifications encouraged.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a safe, timely manner under RN supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, take vital signs, assist with procedures.
• Maintain documentation and medical records accurately and timely.
• Stock supplies and maintain a clean, organized unit environment.
• Adhere to infection control and sterile technique protocols.
