Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, promote safety and comfort, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.

Responsibilities include vitals, specimen collection, EKGs, and assisting with daily activities. Strong teamwork and a patient-first mindset are essential, with required CNA/MA/PCT training or equivalent, and BLS certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Completion of one of: CNA, MA or PCT; Fundamentals of Nursing; HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background; may enter PCT Apprentice program.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, safety, education, and psychosocial needs.
• Obtain vitals, document findings, and notify RN of abnormalities.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as directed.
• Carry out EKGs and assist with procedures as needed.
• Assist with patient transportation, meals, hygiene, and comfort.
• Participate in PI activities and care plan collaboration.
