Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under RN supervision. The role focuses on direct and indirect care for diverse patient populations, with emphasis on safety, comfort and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to care plans, and participating in quality improvement activities. AHIP/EMT background or completion of CNA/PCT programs is preferred, with apprenticeship options available within HMH.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of the listed care programs or equivalent medical background.
• Candidates may enter the HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program after selection.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age and care criteria.
• Ensure safe and effective patient outcomes with clinical judgment.
• Communicate with patients and nursing staff about status and care.
• Initiate actions to improve job performance and patient care.
• Collaborate with the care team to plan from admission to discharge.
• Engage in Unit/Department PI activities.
