Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia (UVA Health) seeks qualified nursing staff to provide direct and indirect patient care in Charlottesville, VA. Positions emphasize safety, adherence to care plans, and collaboration with the health care team.

Minimum requirements include education at least a high school diploma and Virginia credentials such as CNA, EMT, or LPN. AHA BLS is required for most applicants or alternative experience accepted for non-certified hires.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: No experience required
• Licensure: AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification required or acceptable if hired prior to May 11, 2026, with relevant experience accepted in its place
• Must have one of the following Virginia credentials: CNA, EMT, LPN or related nursing program graduate

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct patient care and notify health care team of updates.
• Follow nursing and medical plans of care per UVA Health policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked clinical location to meet patient needs.
• Assist in obtaining specimens for diagnostic tests as needed.
• Demonstrate ASPIRE Values and teamwork in patient care.
