Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent; Experience: No experience required; Licensure: AHA BLS Certification required or acceptable in lieu.
• Must have one of the Virginia credentials listed for patient care support to work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care under supervision of RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and update the health care team.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked environment and ensure safety during care.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to UVA Health policies.
• Identify and report safety concerns and patient information throughout the plan of care.
• Assist with specimen collection for diagnostic tests as needed.

Education

High School Graduate or Equivalent (Education)

Certified Nursing Assistant (Virginia)

Emergency Medical Technician (Virginia)

Military Corpsmen/Medic (Virginia)

LPN license (Virginia)

Graduate of a certified nursing program

Patient Care Technician Certification (NCCT)

Enrolled student nurses (Clinical Experience)
