Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under supervision from RNs or licensed practitioners. You will monitor patients, support daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and clean care environment in alignment with UVA Health policies.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, no prior experience, and a required AHA BLS certification (non-certified hires may be considered with related experience).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required.
• AHA BLS certification required; non-certified hires may be accepted with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate care under supervision.
• Monitor patient conditions and report updates to health care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Ensure a safe, clean, stocked care environment.
• Maintain supplies and equipment per policy.
• Document patient information throughout the care plan.
• Assist with specimen collection for diagnostic tests.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and patient safety initiatives.
