Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in patient care, clerical tasks, and unit operations. The role emphasizes timely responses to patient calls, rounds to reduce calls, and collaboration with the RN on care plans and data collection.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, daily weights, I&O, mobility, and safe patient environments. Must have CNA program background, HS diploma, and English proficiency; BLS and fire safety training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes and assist with care as directed by RN.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and daily activities.
• Document care provided, including vital signs, intake/output, and treatments.
• Maintain organized patient rooms and ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Communicate plan of care to patient and family; coordinate with RN and other staff.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and keep units survey-ready.
