Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering basic patient care. You will assist with ADLs, transport patients, and help maintain a safe and clean environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and CNA credential or nursing student with clinical rotation. 1 year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• CNA certification required or nursing student with 1 clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist RN with the plan of care and ensure patient safety.
• Report changes in patient condition to RN promptly.
• Assist with transporting patients and with lifting, moving, and ambulation.
• Collect specimens as directed and deliver to lab; perform EKGs or phlebotomy as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment and report equipment issues.
• Assist in orienting and training new patient care technicians.
