Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The role requires assisting with ADLs, transporting patients, and adhering to safety and infection-control protocols.

A CNA credential or nursing student status with a clinical rotation is preferred, plus a minimum of 1 year relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certified.
• Certified Nursing Assistant required or nursing student with 1 clinical rotation.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in similar or behavioral health setting preferred and competency in skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADLs (hygiene, toileting, feeding) and assist with plan of care.
• Assist RN with plan of care, maintain patient safety during observation, traction or cast care.
• Report changes in patient condition to RN promptly; communicate needs to staff.
• Assist with transporting, lifting, ambulation, and discharge as requested.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols; maintain clean patient areas and equipment.
