Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes preparing patients for procedures, assisting with activities of daily living, and supporting discharge and transfer processes.

The incumbent will observe and document patient status, perform unit-specific care competencies, and maintain accurate records in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with patient care experience.
• Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician program.
• In-service program or nursing leadership-approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per individualized care plans under RN supervision.
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and specimens; notify nurse of abnormal results in EMR.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, and activities of daily living; ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Transport patients to tests/procedures; assist with admissions and discharges.
