Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under the supervision of RNs in our hospital units. You will monitor patients, assist with activities of daily living, and help ensure a safe, clean environment while supporting the care plan.

A high school diploma or GED is required; Virginia CNA/EMT/LPN or current nursing student status is eligible. BLS certification is required or considered with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/EMT/LPN credential preferred or required per Virginia.
• Current BLS through American Heart Association.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under supervision.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the health care team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked clinical area and equipment.
• Assist with activities of daily living and safety of patients.
• Support nursing staff and follow hospital policies and procedures.
• Attend mandatory trainings and patient safety initiatives.
