Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in our hospital setting. You will follow nursing and medical plans of care, observe patients, and report changes to the care team, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Requirements include High School Diploma or GED, and a current AHA BLS certification. No prior experience is required, and opportunities for education support are available.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Experience: No experience required
• Licensure: AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification required; Non-Certified team members hired prior to May 11, 2026 may be accepted with relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct care to patients in assigned work location.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and provide updates to the health care team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked environment to meet patient needs.
• Assist in collecting specimens for diagnostic tests as needed.
• Attend mandatory in-services and training.
• Demonstrate UVA Health ASPIRE Values in all interactions.
