Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Burn Trauma unit in Norfolk, VA. This full-time, day shift (three 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM) position supports neurosurgery, trauma, burns, and orthopedic cases with rotating weekends.

The role includes patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG testing, specimen collection, Foley catheter care, and documentation under RN supervision. Sentara offers comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) and one of the following is required: CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT, or current clinical program student with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG, IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter care.
