Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Burn Trauma unit. This is a part-time, day-shift role (7 AM–7 PM) with two 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends.

The role involves patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter handling under RN supervision, in a 34-bed mixed ICU/stepdown unit. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• One of the listed certifications or equivalent healthcare training is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG testing, IV removal and specimen collection.
• Observe and report patient conditions to the RN.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/US Navy Hospital Corps/EMS/clinical program/experience as PCT
