Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Burn Trauma unit. The role is full-time, day shift (7 AM–7 PM), with three 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends.

The PCT provides patient care, assists with daily living activities, and supports nursing staff with vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and specimen collection. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 90 days, and at least one year of healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and record vital signs, mobility, and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, IV removal, and specimen collection.
• Insert and remove Foley catheters and report changes to RN.
