Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Burn Trauma unit. This is a full-time day-shift role, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.

The PCT provides basic patient care, takes vital signs, assists with mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing and specimen collection under RN supervision. Education: HS diploma required; accepted pathways include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic,

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; multiple certification pathways accepted (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic, or current RN/LPN/RT/PT student).
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN supervision.
• Monitor vital signs and document observations.
• Aid mobility and daily living activities.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection, and IV-related tasks.
• Support safety and patient comfort in Burn Trauma unit.
