Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to support patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The role involves basic nursing tasks, patient assistance, and maintaining a clean, safe environment on the inpatient unit.

The incumbent will document care, monitor vitals, assist with mobility and daily activities, and participate in admission, discharge and transfer processes as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic mathematics skills are required.
• Ability to document patient care accurately in the EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care tasks.
• Document vital signs, meals, intake/output and daily activities.
• Assist RN with care of acutely ill patients and maintain patient safety.
