Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and support unit coordination. The role involves basic nursing procedures for stable patients, assisting RNs with acutely ill patients, and maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and safety.

Responsibilities include vital signs, documentation in the EMR, time management, and participation in admissions, discharges, and transfers. Training is provided for those with limited prior experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 weeks of training for those with limited or no experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Monitors vital signs, skin survey, ambulation, specimen collection and intake/output.
• Documents information in the electronic medical record accurately.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
