Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a nurse aide to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination under RN supervision. The role includes performing basic nursing procedures, monitoring vitals, helping with activities of daily living, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

You will document care in the electronic medical record, participate in rounds, coordinate admissions/discharges, and help maintain a clean, efficient inpatient unit.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Limited or no experience: 2 weeks of training may be provided.
• Preferred: Acute care experience within the last 3 years.
• Actively enrolled in ASN/BSN program with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
