Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Night Shift Patient Care Assistant at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson in Anderson, IN. The role supports multiple units throughout the hospital and requires aiding with patient movement and daily living activities.

The position operates 6:00pm–6:30am, full time with three shifts weekly and rotating every third weekend and every other holiday. Minimum education is a high school diploma equivalency or 1 year of related experience, plus BLS certification within 30 days

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).

Responsibilities

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports changes in condition to nursing staff and documents records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and maintains medical equipment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.

• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.

• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
