Job summary

Ascension in Anderson, Indiana, seeks a Paramedic for transport-only duties (no 911). This full-time role covers day shifts, 11:00am–11:00pm, three shifts per week, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson facility.

You will lead in-transit patient care, follow transport protocols, and coordinate with physicians to ensure seamless care from bedside to bedside. Minimum requirements include ALS and BLS within specified timeframes, plus EMT or Paramedic credentials, with preferred drivers license and

• ALS (Advanced Life Support) obtained within 6 months of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• One or more of: EMT credentialed by Indiana Homeland Security or Paramedic credentialed by Indiana Homeland Security.

Responsibilities

• Lead life-saving interventions and patient stabilization during transport.
• Execute transport protocols, monitor vitals and treatment responses.
• Communicate critical health updates to the receiving medical team for seamless care.
• Explain treatments in clear language to patients and families to reduce anxiety.
• Maintain medical equipment and transport environments to ensure safety.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead life-saving interventions and patient stabilization during transit, working in close sync with physicians to ensure a seamless continuum of care from bedside to bedside.
• Execute specialized transport protocols with precision, monitoring patient vitals and treatment responses to guarantee safety and comfort throughout the journey.
• Communicate critical health updates and care transitions to the receiving medical team, ensuring that every patient's clinical story is told accurately for better recovery outcomes.
• Support patients and their families by explaining complex treatments in clear, comforting language, reducing anxiety during high-stress transitions.
• Maintain high-performance medical equipment and transport environments to ensure a fail-safe setting for the team and the patients you serve.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education
