Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Cushing, OK is seeking a day shift, PRN Adult Psychiatric Patient Care Tech (PCT) to join our team. The role supports patients with daily activities, monitors vital signs, and assists with basic care under supervision.

The ideal candidate will have CNA/PCT certification and BLS, with ongoing nursing school enrollment or EMT-P training considered a plus. This position is on-site and designed for flexible hours to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Observes patients’ progress and reports to nurses.
• Obtains and records vital signs and collects specimens as required.

• Observes patients’ progress and communicates with RN or medical staff.
• Obtains and records vital signs and collects specimens for tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and maintains unit cleanliness.
• Measures intake/output and assists with range of motion exercises.

• Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT.
• Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school.
