Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a full-time day shift phlebotomy-focused patient care role in the Oncology department. The position involves obtaining vital signs, monitoring inputs/outputs, completing blood draws, and assisting with activities of daily living to support patient comfort and mobility.

Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS within 1 month of hire, and Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
