Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Postpartum department on a full-time night shift. The role emphasizes coordinating patient care, implementing care plans, and ensuring accurate order execution across disciplines.

Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma, TN RN license, BLS, and neonatal certification programs (NRP and STABLE) completed within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or equivalent licensure at time of hire.
• TN Registered Nurse license or compact-state recognition required.
• Basic Life Support certification current or within 30 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
• The S.T.A.B.L.E. program certification obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans, communicate patient status.
• Coordinate care across disciplines for well-coordinated discharge planning.
• Note and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge needs with the healthcare team.

Education

Diploma from an accredited nursing program

TN RN License (Multistate/Compact)

BLS Provider certification

Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP/NRP-like)

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
