Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses in the St. Francis Downtown unit. The role provides basic patient care, monitors vital signs, assists with feeding, hygiene, and mobility, and documents care in EPIC EHR.

The ideal candidate has current BLS, completion of a nursing aide program or CNA certification, and prior acute care or long-term care experience. Night shifts with a 36-hour week and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred; must be obtained prior to direct patient care.
• Completion of approved nursing aide training or CNA program.
• Experience in acute care or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital signs, hygiene, mobility support.
• Report changes to nurse and communicate with the health care team.
• Deliver compassionate care and high-level service to patients and families.
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR.
• Participate in hand-offs and reporting of patient needs on arrival and departure.
• Assist with transfer of patients using safe techniques.
• Encourage independence and tailor care to patient preferences.
