Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Kings Mills, OH seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit. The PCT provides basic health care under RN guidance, sanitizes rooms, monitors vital signs, and assists patients with feeding and personal care.

Qualifications include BLS (preferred), completion of nursing aide training or STNA/CNA eligibility, and recent acute care experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability are essential in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires BLS (preferred; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Must have completed one of: nursing aide training program, STNA eligibility (OH LTC), CNA, nursing program with clinical course, or 1 year of relevant clinical experience
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-offs and reports of patient and departmental needs.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and personal task completion.
• Individuals’ care is tailored to patient interests and hobbies.
