Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care, assist the RN, and support unit coordination on an inpatient floor.

You will perform basic nursing tasks, document in the EMR, participate in rounding and safety initiatives, and help with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining patient dignity and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Preferred Acute care experience within the last 3 years
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care and activities including activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and bedside shift report.
• Document vital signs, weights, I&O, and all other treatments, reporting changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
