Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant to provide direct patient care and assist the registered nurse in caring for patients in stable condition. You will perform basic nursing procedures, document care in the electronic medical record, and help with admissions, discharges, and transfers under supervision.

You should be able to read, write, and follow instructions, with basic math skills and a willingness to participate in training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document basic patient care activities.
• Assist RN in care of acutely ill patients.
• Participate in unit activities and admissions/discharges/ transfers.
• Maintain patient environment and communication with care team.
• Adhere to hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
