Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care and support non-direct patient care coordination on a stable unit. You will document care in the EMR and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers under RN supervision.

Under the RN, you will help maintain the patient/family environment, ensure timely care, and participate in safety and cleanliness initiatives. This is a steady night shift role involving 36 hours per week across 3 shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives with hourly rounding.
• Document vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimen collection, and treatments; report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with unit activities like supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
