Job summary

UI Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Nursing Technician for a 0.5 FTE schedule (20 hours per week) in the 7E Stepdown unit. Shift is Flex Nights with rotating weekends, providing patient care under RN supervision.

The role requires a CNA license, Illinois residency at application, and current BLS/CPR. Responsibilities include ADL support, EHR documentation, and collaboration to promote safety and quality, with a focus on compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA license from an accredited program.
• Active on Illinois IDPH CNA registry.
• Current BLS/CPR and other unit-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission, transfer or discharge; support ADLs and safety.
• Document patient information in EHR (vital signs, care, intake/output).
• Act as patient/family advocate and provide feedback to RN/LPN.
• Demonstrate UI Health values through teamwork and communication; contribute to quality outcomes.
• Participate in departmental goals and problem-solving; support learning experiences for staff.
• Identify recurring clinical issues and participate in resolutions; collaborate with staff.
