Job summary

UI Health is seeking a Nursing Technician for the 7E Stepdown unit in Chicago, IL. This 50% part-time position offers 20 hours per week with Flex Nights and rotating weekends, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The Nursing Technician delivers patient care using the Relationship-Based Care model, assists with activities of daily living, documents vital signs in the EHR, and supports patient safety and learning within the team.

Qualifications

• CNA license from an accredited institution must be listed on your application.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Illinois residency at time of application submission is required.
• High school graduation or equivalent must be listed on the application.
• Registered on the Illinois Department of Public Health Health Care Work Registry must be listed on the application.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission, transfer or discharge as assigned and support activities of daily living.
• Document patient information in the EHR (vital signs, nursing care, intake/output).
• Provide comfort and information to patients and families, and communicate with RN/LPN as directed.
• Support safety, teamwork, and adherence to UI Health values to achieve quality outcomes.
