Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech in Illinois for a full-time day shift (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.). The role supports nursing staff, performs basic patient-care activities, and may float to other areas as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience. Eligible candidates join a comprehensive benefits program and a union-influenced pay scale.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output.
Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff and keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
Manages unit workflow in coordination with the charge RN and/or assistant manager.
Responds to calls and communicates information to staff, family or patient as needed.
