Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to support patient care across a variety of units under RN supervision. You will assist with assessments, data collection, and direct care to help improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and ensuring a safe, clean environment while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Nursing assistants and related programs are preferred, with a trajectory into PCT/APprentice tracks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school, or HM H PCT Apprenticeship.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs; strong teamwork and patient-focused care.
• Preferred: phlebotomy and EKG experience; 1+ year PCT/CNA in hospital.
• AHA BLS certification within 60 days; Medical Office Assistant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across age groups per clinical criteria.
• Document vital signs and notify RN of abnormal results.
• Perform venipuncture, EKG, and basic specimen handling.
• Ensure equipment readiness and safe patient environment.
• Assist with admission, meal support, and care transitions.
