Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join a multidisciplinary team to support patient care across units. Under RN supervision, you will provide direct and indirect care, promote safety, comfort, and satisfaction, and assist with a range of unit tasks.

The role emphasizes learning, teamwork, accountability, and ongoing education to deliver high-quality care. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and relevant training in PCT/MA/Nursing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of one of: Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician program; or Fundamentals of Nursing program; or HM H PCT Apprenticeship Program; or equivalent medical background.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong teamwork and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, safety, and education needs.
• Communicate with RN and health-care team about patient status.
• Perform venipuncture, EKGs and basic lab tasks as directed.
• Assist with transport, hygiene, feeding, and daily living activities.
• Ensure equipment readiness and maintain patient environment.
