Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Unit Secretary/Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care and clerical support on the unit. Under the direction of a Clinical Nurse, you will assist with patient care, maintain a clean environment, and support the patient care team.

You may schedule tests, maintain records, and help with sign-in/out for patients and delivery of equipment and supplies. Required credentials include a High School Diploma or GED and CPR; completion of IU Health PCA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification may be required or obtained.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Infection control knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties.
• Administer care to designated patients under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Assist the patient care team and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
• Schedule tests and procedures, and maintain patient records.
• Sign patients in and out of the unit and assist with equipment/ supplies as needed.
