Job summary

Responsibilities include scheduling tests, maintaining patient records, checking in/out patients, and handling equipment flow. CPR certification and completing the IU Health PCA program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• Requires prior acute patient care experience or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• requires basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Requires knowledge of infection control principles.
• Requires basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and unit clerical support under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Assist with scheduling tests and procedures for patients.
• Maintain patient records and sign patients in and out of the unit.
• Provide information, directions and additional assistance to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• May be responsible for ordering, receiving and delivering equipment and supplies for the patient care team.
• May be required to provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
