CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant for an onsite role. The position focuses on intake and clinical rooming, preparing patients for the doctor, and ensuring a smooth clinical flow so physicians can focus on medical decisions.

The MA will handle EMR inbox tasks, verify medications and allergies, and perform patient education using the loop-back method. Required are MA training or 3+ years experience, HIPAA/OSHA knowledge, and BLS certification where

Qualifications

• Graduated from MA training program or at least 3 years MA experience.
• Right to work in the United States.
• Current or in progress BLS certification (for certain levels or state required).
• Knowledge of HIPAA & Safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Intake & Clinical Rooming: perform intake, verify medications and allergies, document history and conduct screenings as needed.
• Inbox & Worklist Management: manage the EMR inbox with routing rules for messages, labs and adherence follow-ups; aim for same-day touch.
• Education & Loop-Back: ensure patients understand next steps by asking them to repeat instructions in their own words.
