Job summary

Phoenix Physical Therapy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator II (Casual Part Time) to support clinic operations, scheduling, and patient interactions. You will manage demographics, verify insurance, collect payments, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR system.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, updating records, and coordinating with providers to ensure timely care and revenue goals. CPR certification and medical billing experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or college level business courses preferred.
• 2 years of previous experience in a medical billing practice and medical terminology (HCFA 1500, CPT and ICD 9 codes) preferred
• Current CPR Certificate

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients or visitors and direct them to the appropriate department or exam room.
• Gather and update patient information including demographics and insurance details.
• Verify active insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Schedule patient appointments and document accounts; maintain continuity of care.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other payments; record receipts in the system.
• Audit visits for proper prescriptions, authorization, and precertification; collect monies due.
• Answer calls, arrange referrals, and relay messages.
• Support daily reports and communicate needs for prescriptions or authorizations to avoid delays in patient care.
• Maintain safe, clean, and compliant office environment.
• May assist with clerical duties and basic data entry.
