Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, NC is seeking a Customer Care Associate in Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. The role handles patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, and ensuring an excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities include updating demographics and insurance, collecting payments, coordinating interpreters, and providing clinical summaries after visits. Flexibility for coverage and participation in outreach and innovations is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical office/clinical environment preferred.

Responsabilités

• Check-in patients via phone or live
• Update patients demographic and insurance information
• Verify insurance as needed
• Collect payments and reconcile cash drawers as assigned
• Refer patients to financial advocates as needed
• Prepare and provide appropriate patient paperwork
• Respond to walk-in patient needs
• Monitor waiting room for delays
• Check-out patients
• Schedule appointments
• Provide patients with clinical summary following visit
• Coordinate interpreting services for patients
• Reconcile appointments
• Answer phones and check voicemails
• Monitor phone volume
• Monitor electronic health record inbox and follow-up
• Participate in orientation of new staff
• Float between front desk and scheduling areas
• Provide satellite coverage as assigned
• Participate in process improvement of workflows
• Support divisional and organizational initiatives
• Participate in outreach initiatives and seasonal clinics
