Job summary

AEG is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow within our care team. You will greet patients, answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and coordinate across clinical and optical teams to ensure smooth visits.

The role emphasizes proactive communication, accuracy in EMR data, and delivering a high-quality patient experience through efficient scheduling and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and EMR experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication with patients and team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; be the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules.
• Send appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and demographics in EMR; enter data accurately.
• Prepare patient charts and documents before visits for smooth flow.
• Record charges and payments in EMR; monitor balances and collections.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to minimize bottlenecks.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients to maintain satisfaction.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for seamless care transitions.
• Support retention via recalls and reminders for annual/medically necessary exams.
• Keep front desk organized and patient-ready; perform other duties as needed.
