Job summary

NSPC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced clinical office in White Plains, MD. You will greet patients, prepare them for care, and act as a liaison between providers and patients while maintaining strict infection control and privacy standards.

The role includes documentation, patient education, and follow-up calls as needed. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, with MA program completion preferred, or 2+ years of clinical MA experience in a group

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred or 2+ years MA experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience, preferably in a group practice.
• Ability to take vitals and understand medical terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance criteria for tests and procedures.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA and patient privacy rules.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in waiting area, exam room, and procedure room as appropriate.
• Prepares patients for care, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
• Manages daily patient flow and liaises between Providers and patients.
• Relays clinical messages and responds to provider needs.
• Cleans/prepares exam, procedure, and recovery rooms before and after visits.
• Documents patient charts with vitals, meds, allergies, orders and prescriptions.
• Provides discharge instructions and educational materials.
• Assists with pre/post procedure follow-up calls as assigned.
• Maintains infection control, privacy, and OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
• Performs administrative duties when clinical tasks are complete.
