Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two years of college in social services, healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.
• Two years of relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required per department.
• Knowledge of referral processes, insurance benefits, and authorization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, email, or in person and manages communications.
• Registers and pre-registers patients with accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility data in the EHR.
• Performs patient check-in and supports self-check-in across multiple EHRs; collects copays and ensures forms are completed.
• Manages appointment confirmations, reschedules, and follows up on unconfirmed appointments.
• Coordinates internal and external patient referrals, including documentation, tracking, and follow-up.
• Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements.
